My family came to visit me! Had a nice day in London with my brother and Erica before my parents came, we went to York and then I met them again in Edinburgh where we did a lot of driving around and Stuart and Erica met up with us again before we later went on to Belgium & France.
I planned a secret day out for my parents where I planned where we went. As they’d visited before I tried to find some fun things they wouldn’t know about. We started off the day at Duck & Waffle for breakfast. Food was nice but overpriced, but you’re really paying for the amazing view, so I’d say it was worth it! We then went to the V&A Museum of Childhood, went shopping and wandering around Soho. Had lunch in Kingly Court, got my favourite cupcakes from Crumbs & Doilies. We then went back to the hotel in Vauxhall for a bit before we headed to Victoria to grab a quick dinner at Jamie’s Italian before seeing Wicked. After the show we went back to Kingly Court and went to Cahoots which was probably the highlight. Such a fun night, great drinks and atmosphere.
The weather was all over the place when we went to York! Snow came out of nowhere but then was nice and sunny the next day.
York was a beautiful little city. Dad spent a whole day happily at the train museum while me and mum had a great time at the outlet mall nearby.
I met up with Mum and Dad again in Edinburgh later that week before Stuart and Erica came and met us after their Contiki had finished. We covered a lot of ground and managed to see a lot.
Lastly before we headed off to Belgium, Dad had booked us a secret trip on the Jacobite which was a fun experience as it’s the Hogwarts train and was a beautiful journey! unfortunately it was crazy hot on the train…. but we got through it.
On the way back from our train trip we had dinner at Jamie’s Italian in Glasgow and it was an amazing meal actually, I’ve eaten at a few Jamie’s Italian’s now but this was the best by a mile.
